Sigiswald Kuijken is a prominent Belgian lutenist, conductor, viol, and baroque violinist, born in Belgium on June 8, 1944. His musical journey began at a young age, with his mother playing the violin, instilling in him a deep appreciation for classical music. He began his formal education in music at the age of five when he enrolled at a local conservatory.
Kuijken pursued studies in music theory and performance at the Ghent Conservatory and was eventually awarded a master's degree from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
