Johnny Winter was a true rock 'n' roll icon, known for his scorching guitar riffs and heartfelt vocals. Born on February 23, 1944, in Beaumont, Texas, Winter grew up surrounded by music, with his uncles, Edgar and Jessie, as key influences. He began playing guitar at the age of 3 and eventually formed his first band, The Sheik, while still in school. Winter's early days were marked by a series of lineups and band names, but it wasn't until the 1960s that he began to make a name for himself in the music scene. His unique blend of rockabilly, blues, and country soon caught the attention of fans and critics alike.
