    Playing Multiple Notes Together

A chord is when you play three or more notes at the same time. Chords create the harmony that makes songs sound full and complete.

    What is a Chord?

Instead of playing notes one at a time (melody), chords let you play several notes together to create harmony. Think of it like the difference between singing alone versus singing with friends!

    Your First Three Chords

    C Major Chord

    • Right hand: Thumb on C, middle finger on E, pinky on G

    • Press all three keys at the same time

    • Fingers: 1-3-5

    G Major Chord

    • Right hand: Thumb on G, middle finger on B, pinky on D

    • Slightly higher on the keyboard than C

    • Fingers: 1-3-5

    F Major Chord
